How To Bid

Bidder Registration

You are required to register with a credit card before you can bid.

Registration is conducted on the safe and secure site of Hibid Auctions at Ontario.Hibid.com.

A valid credit card is required to verify your information and allows you to bid

We do not accept debit, cheques, or cash.

Will my credit card be charged when I register for the auction? There is no cost to register or bid and no charges will be billed to your credit card unless you are the winning bidder on an item.

Preview – there is no in person preview. If you have any questions regarding an item please contact Courtney Auctions and we will do our best to assist you. Please remember that items are sold as is, where is.

Maximum Bids

You can leave a maximum bid amount and our secure auction site will bid for you in listed increments above other bidders until your maximum bid has been out bid. If you are the winning bidder you will only pay the final bid amount – which could be lower than your maximum bid amount.

Soft Close

All auctions end with a soft close, this prevents individuals from entering a bid at the very last second before an auction closes, in order to prevent others from bidding higher. This means that the bidding ends when all bidders have quit participating. If a bid is made in the last 5 minutes of an auction, the auction will remain open for an additional 2 minutes. If additional bids are made, the 2 minute extension continues until all bidding activity is over.

Winning an auction

All winning bidders will be notified shortly after the auction. Your credit card can be charged at that time for the price of the items you have won plus buyer premium and taxes. Please remember, a 10% buyers premium is in effect for all auction sales.

Pick up your items

Pick up your items at our Listowel location. Please bring your own boxes and packing materials if needed, and a helper for large & heavy items.
